Virtual psychogeographicultural concept collage

This project was supposed to teach us more about the analysis of a place.  I chose The Vatican.  This assignment let me explore Photoshop more and as it turns out, I actually don’t know everything (I was shocked).  This also helped me a lot with composition and board layout.  A lot of it has to do with what looks balanced and what looks good to you, but in the analysis part, I had to put words in there too and even though it was a bit of a pain to rearrange things at first, it was worth learning something new.

Exercise 2 - The web we weave

For this exercise, we were to think of our personal design process and make a web of the programs we used to do it.  From this exercise I learned that I realllllly need to expand my computer knowledge...good thing I'm taking this class, right?!

Exercise 1 - Who are you?

For this first exercise, we were supposed to pick four images (plan, section/elevation, photomontage, and a system diagram). For these four images, we had to say 1) what it was 2) who made it 3) how they made it 4) why is it special 5) what we learned.

Driveway section-elevation, Andrew Kilinski, ASLA, photoshop, detail, a little color goes a long way.

Section of a wall, fallen bridge, photoshop, hand oriented, grays work.

Plan, kachay homes, hand/photoshop/autocad, I like the colors and variation of the hand drawn and rendered elements with hard lines, you can leave a lot of white space and a lot of variations of green.

Photomontage, V&R architects, google earth/ cad/photoshop, engaging, shadows grab attention.

This exercise taught me that everyone has different things that appeal to them graphicly, but there are always ways to make what is in your head, better.
